Understanding Your Mental Health Benefits

Are you on a Sana First Health Plan (SFHP)?

If you're 18 or older and looking for routine outpatient mental health care, start with Sana Care. Your Sana Care team will help evaluate your needs and connect you with Care Navigation when a referral to an appropriate in-person or virtual mental health provider is needed.

Urgent or crisis mental health care does not require a Sana Care referral. If you need immediate or emergency mental health care, seek help right away rather than waiting to contact Sana Care.

Psychiatry & psychology evaluation and prescription management 

Includes office visits to establish new patients, coordinate care, or manage active prescriptions. Does not include talk therapy

• PPO Plus (C, B, E, P, and S) Plans: $50 copay
• PPO Plus HSA Plans: Covered 0% before the deductible, then 100% after the deductible is met.

Individual and group psychotherapy

Includes talk therapy from psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed professional counselors, licensed social workers, or psychiatric nurses

• PPO Plus (C, B, E, P, and S) Plans: $50 copay
• PPO Plus HSA Plans: Covered 0% before the deductible, then 100% after the deductible is met.

Marriage and family psychotherapy/counseling

Includes talk therapy from licensed marriage and family therapists

Inpatient & intensive outpatient care

Includes mental health services provided at a hospital or residential clinic (not a physician's office). Mental health services performed at a residential treatment facility, under partial hospitalization, or in an intensive outpatient setting require prior authorization.
