Sana makes it easy for anyone with a company administrator account to enroll on behalf of an employee during an annual Open Enrollment period, a New Hire Open Enrollment period, or a Qualifying Life Event.
Open Enrollment Period
- Sign in to Sana during the company’s Open Enrollment period.
- Select Employer Tools > Employees from the menu bar on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Choose the employee you'd like to enroll.
- Complete any missing details in the Information section.
- Add any applicable dependents in the Dependents section.
- Click Change Benefits.
- Select “Employee has selected benefits as part of Open Enrollment” as the answer to the question “Why are you making this change?”.
- If applicable, please add a waiver reason for the employee if they do not wish to enroll.
New Hire Enrollment Period
- Sign in to Sana during the employee’s New Hire Open Enrollment period.
- Select Employer Tools > Employees from the menu bar on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Choose the employee you'd like to enroll.
- Complete any missing details in the Information section.
- Add any applicable dependents in the Dependents section.
- Click Change Benefits.
- Select “Employee is a new hire” as the answer to the question, “Why are you making this change?”.
- If applicable, please add a waiver reason for the employee if they do not wish to enroll.
Qualifying Life Event
- Sign in to Sana within 31 days of an employee’s Qualifying Life Event.*
- Select Employer Tools > Employees from the menu bar on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Choose the employee you'd like to enroll.
- Complete any missing details in the Information section.
- Add any applicable dependents in the Dependents section.
- Click Change Benefits.
- Select “Employee has experienced a qualifying life event” as the answer to the question “Why are you making this change?”.
- If applicable, please add a waiver reason for the employee if they do not wish to enroll.

You can also enroll on behalf of an employee by using the blue Change icon on your admin dashboard.
If you use the Change icon on your dashboard, you won’t have the opportunity to edit the employee’s information or dependents. If you need to make changes to information or dependents, we recommend following the instructions in the lists above.
* Please note you cannot request a change to your policy before the qualifying life event. Changes can only be made on the day of the event or within the 31 days following the event.
