Getting Started with Your Sana Enrollment

Whether you are enrolling during Open Enrollment or as a new hire, here is everything you need to know about setting up your account, when your coverage starts, and what your employer needs to do.

Setting Up Your Account & Registration Troubleshooting

On the first day of Open Enrollment or upon your hire date, Sana sends an account registration invitation to the email address provided by your employer.

If you didn't receive your registration email:

1. Check your spam or junk folder.
2. Confirm with your employer or HR manager that the email was sent and that your email address was entered correctly in Sana.
3. If confirmed, you can request a new registration link or contact Sana Customer Support for a new link.

Updating Your Account Registration Email: If your registration link was sent to an incorrect email address, please contact Sana Customer Support. Our team will update the email on the account and send a password reset link to the new email.

When Does Coverage Become Active?

• Standard Effective Dates: Coverage typically becomes effective on the 1st of the month following your enrollment election or according to your employer's established waiting period.
• Retroactive Processing: Even if your physical ID card arrives after your effective date, your coverage is active retroactively to your official effective date once processed.
• Checking Coverage Status: You can log in to your Sana Member Portal at any time to verify your official coverage start date and download a digital ID card.

What your Employer/Human Resources Needs to Do

To ensure your coverage activates smoothly, your employer must complete the following steps:

1. Approve Selections: Review and approve your selections as soon as possible.

Qualifying Life Events (QLE)

Once your initial enrollment is complete, mid-year changes—such as adding or dropping a dependent, or changing plan type—can only be made if you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). Changes must be submitted within 31 days of the event.
