Traveling soon?
At this time, Sana does not cover healthcare services and procedures outside of the United States. We recommend getting travel insurance for your next trip to cover any medical expenses that may come up.
We recommend battleface for your travel insurance needs.
On an H or HD plan?
You can use your HSA card for medical expenses outside of the U.S. as long as the service, procedure, or prescription is recognized as a valid and qualifying expense within the U.S. The expenses must be legal in both countries and must be covered under your plan. Please note that you cannot bring prescription drugs from another country into the U.S.
Before using your HSA card internationally, we recommend checking your card agreement for information on "foreign transaction fees" as these can run between 1-3%. Lively, for example, charges 1% on international purchases.
