Passive Renewals

Existing Sana members are opted-in automatically to passive renewals.

This means once a renewal open enrollment period comes to an end, if the subscriber hasn't selected a new plan or declined coverage, they will automatically renew with the same plan, along with any dependents. If that plan is no longer available, the most similar plan will be selected on their behalf. 

We recommend all subscribers actively select a plan during their renewal open enrollment period. Our passive renewals policy, however, ensures no one loses coverage in the event they forget.

Once a passive renewal goes into effect, a member can only change their plan through a qualifying life event.
